Help for my aching pelvic bones?

Posted by admin on Dec 29, 2008

I am 14 weeks, 2 days. For the last two weeks, my inner pelvic bones are so achy, like they're starting to separate. The last few days, this has also caused lower back pain. It gets worse when I walk for long stretches, or sit for long periods. I exercise and get massages regularly. I'm going to ask my doctor about chiropractors or physical therapy, but i wondered if anyone else had these problems? I remember it from pregnancy #1, but not this early on! Thanks.

Yes! I have it every pregnancy and it can be pretty painful. Even rolling over in bed can be very painful! With my first pregnancy, I didn't get any help for it. My Dr. said they couldn't do anything during pregnancy but to take some acetaminophen. After having my baby, months later, I was still loose and still in pain (I had a C-section, BTW). My Dr. sent me to a physical therapist. It helped a little.
My second pregnancy, I went to a Chiropractor. I am so glad I did! He helped ease a lot of that pain!
I am currently pregnant with #3 and have felt my pelvic joints loosening, but no pain. My current OB said to start going back to the Chiropractor. I would recommend going!

I've heard that things get more intense more quickly with second pregnancies because you are already more stretched out internally.
All you can do is ask at your doctors for the right treatment but since you have already thought of this, you have it all covered!
Congratulations on your pregnancy :)
