Posted by admin on Jan 10, 2009

I start my massage therapy class on Monday. I am taking the Swedish/American massage class and i was wonder what i should expect, or tips?

XOXO

As to Swedish Massage, you can expect to learn the different techniques of massage strokes. Examples are effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapotement, vibration to name a few.

As what was mentioned, the basic ana & physio probably since you will be working in direct contact/manipulation of the body. Also, massage nowadays is also viewed as a natural healing process so as a licensed Massage Therapist you should be expected to know the basics on how the body works.

If you mean massage therapy school you can expect to start learning anatomy, physiology, pathology, massage theory and how to start your own business.

Get the most out of massage school by putting as much time and energy into it as you can.
