Ideal Massage Experience

Posted by admin on Apr 24, 2009

Many people would love a good massage every now and then. A goodmassage can be therapeutic and relaxing. A professional, licensed massage therapist will have tons of ways to ease tension of all muscle groups. You can go to unlicensed massage therapists, of course, and a lot of people do because most of the time they cost less than licensed professionals. However, you are not going to get the same benefits and the same experience you would with a licensed therapist.

A good massage therapy is an entire experience, not just something you do temporarily. It often starts with a relaxing atmosphere as soon as you enter the massage room. An ideal massage is often on a massage table, because you can put your face down and breathe and still be comfortable. The massage therapist will help you feel comfortable. You will be relaxed and be ready for the massage that you are about to experience. It is very important to set the atmosphere just right. The room where a professional massage will take place would usually be in a warm, candlelit room. It will usually also have either water fountain sounds, or a CD of ocean waves.

The licensed massage therapist would use warm oil, so that their hands would glide over the skin. The person would have firm and strong, smooth hands, and press with the perfect amount of pressure so that it would be a deep massage, that can be felt deep inside the muscles but not painful. They would start at the feet, then they would work up the calves, to the thighs. All this time they would use a deep kneading motion. They would work up the buttocks, to the lower back, then upper. The next parts are the shoulders and neck. To end with, it is time to turn over and the massage therapist would knead down the arms, and then the hands. The last step of the massage would be the face, with gentle easy pressure.
