Anyone become pregnant while on the Depo shot and/or even though it took away your period!?

Posted by admin on Jan 8, 2009

I ask because im scared that i may be pregnant. But what keeps convincing me that im not is that my symptoms started in November a few days after receiving my 4th Depo shot. Ive been getting them since Dec.07. I just received my portable massage table and as soon so i started bending over and putting it together my stomach became sore. Now ive been thinking about being pregnant for the past month so i feel like it could be that. Also the other day i had just waken up and while feeding my 14 month old he did something really cute and so i started laughing. I had slept on my stomach like most nights but i guess more the night before and my stomach felt sore. Now after i got the shot i started to get dizzy spells and feel really tired. Last month i started exercising but the past 2 week i have been feeling really tired and so i haven't exercised in a week. On about the 2nd or 3rd month of my first Depo shot i stopped getting my period. Ever since then ive had 2-3 times that i start to spot for like 3 days including the one that started 2 days ago. Im so confused but scared at the same time that i keep avoiding buying pregnancy tests! Including being really tired lately i feel like ive been lacking sleep even though ive been getting the same amount since ive been on vacation from school. Anytime i wake up now i feel so lazy and sleepy but i had already gotten use to getting less sleep in September last year when i start Massage Therapy classes. So my period stopping because of the Depo shot doesn't help me in figuring out if i could be pregnant or not. It's not like if my period didn't come i had a reason to suspect because the shot took it away! Please help and let me know what you think. I will be stopping by the store tomorrow after school to get some pregnancy test.

I got pregnant on the depo shot. I took the shot on November 15th and got pregnant in January, had my son in October. The thing is that it NEVER stopped my periods.
Truly the best thing that ever happened to me. However, the doctors said it was like a 1 in a million shot! I guess we got lucky, to say the least!
Very best wishes!

Working with pregnant women?

Posted by admin on Jan 4, 2009

I am 19 and I really want to start working with pregnant Women. I am in the process of getting my Massage Therapy license and my main field is going to be pregnancy massage.
I have been searching and searching on the internet for different jobs and main focus is working with pregnant women with during before and after their pregnancy. I have been fascinated by pregnancy since I was 15 (almost decided to get pregnant but thank the lord I didn't)… Now that I just moved up to Washington I want to start perusing something that I love.
So if you can think of any kind of job or even small jobs that you can do with pregnant women that would be great.
I don't want to take the training for midwife… not something that I want to do right now. And the only other thing I have heard of is a Doula.
Thank u so much for ur time.

i just became an LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) and i love it work with pregnant women alot and now that im pregnant my self its getting harder but first thing you need to do is go to school and get your license (well depending on the state) i personally dont think its right for anyone to be massaging with out one because there are so many contraindications and so many muscles you have to learn but do all that and then your school can help you look for a great job!!! good luck

Anyone else's child like this???

Posted by admin on Jan 2, 2009

My one year doesn't seem very attatched to me. I want through terrible axniety during my pregnancy and PP depression. While I was physically present , emotionally I was a mess. Now, I'm in therapy and my hormones are evening out. My daughter doesn't want me to hug or kiss her. She doesn't seek out my attention. She's happy to play by herself all the time. I've realized that I was not there for her in some very important ways (I didn't feel attached to her while I was depressed) in the beginning and I feel that this is why she's this way. I stayed home with her, took her for walks every day, gave her daily massages, nursed her for eight months, read to her, and worries over every little thing. I think she knew, though, that deep down things weren't right. She smiles but doesn't laugh very often. I try to hold her and she hates it. It breaks my heart and confidence as a mother. Does anyone else have a toddler with a similar personality or is this my fault?
Also, she is not autistic

No i don t have a toddler like that But i have been a parent for quite some time seems to me your child has picked up on the fact that maybe you pushed her away are were giving false signals to her they can pick up on that stuff trust me they can like a dog smells fear if i was u i would work extra hard to try and reestablish the bond between you 2 before it goes on too long and she feels uncomfortabl;e and untrusting towards you

Ok.. Trying this again Yahoo ate half my question… 12 weeks pregnant, uncontrollable hip pain?

Posted by admin on Dec 31, 2008

Ok so… Since becoming pregnant, technically my 4th pregnancy, but I’ve had 2 miscarries so this will be baby number 2. My hips have widened and my joints seem to have decided to loosen up like they did early on in my pregnancy with my son.

My one hip (left one) keeps going out of place, I have had the chiropractor put it back into place twice already and it is out for the third time. My OB is aware of the pain it’s causing me, and prescribed me some pain meds that should take off the edge of the pain.
I took one about 30 minutes ago, and normally it will start helping within 10-20. I’m feeling absolutely no relief and the pain is making me sick.

Any suggestions on how to help this pain? I’ve tried heating pads, warm baths, massage, none of it is working tonight.
Should I call “Ask a Nurse” and see what they suggest, or just try to ride it out til Monday when I start physical therapy?
**Honest opinions here please, and I don’t need anyone getting on me about taking the pain medication my OB prescribed**

u should call ask a nurse t suggest something then hopfully that will allow u to ride it out til mondy stay rested n get some1 2 help look after ur little boy

Help for my aching pelvic bones?

Posted by admin on Dec 29, 2008

I am 14 weeks, 2 days. For the last two weeks, my inner pelvic bones are so achy, like they're starting to separate. The last few days, this has also caused lower back pain. It gets worse when I walk for long stretches, or sit for long periods. I exercise and get massages regularly. I'm going to ask my doctor about chiropractors or physical therapy, but i wondered if anyone else had these problems? I remember it from pregnancy #1, but not this early on! Thanks.

Yes! I have it every pregnancy and it can be pretty painful. Even rolling over in bed can be very painful! With my first pregnancy, I didn't get any help for it. My Dr. said they couldn't do anything during pregnancy but to take some acetaminophen. After having my baby, months later, I was still loose and still in pain (I had a C-section, BTW). My Dr. sent me to a physical therapist. It helped a little.
My second pregnancy, I went to a Chiropractor. I am so glad I did! He helped ease a lot of that pain!
I am currently pregnant with #3 and have felt my pelvic joints loosening, but no pain. My current OB said to start going back to the Chiropractor. I would recommend going!
Some Chiropractors specialize in pregnant women, so ask around first.
