No, generally you have to have a license for a profession that requires a license there. The law of Arizona does not apply in Colorado, and vice versa.

Felony Conviction and Getting a Massage Therapy License?

A year and a half ago, I got in some trouble,for being a stupid kid in the wrong place. I pleaded no contest to a felony conviction and got withhelp ajudification. It's only been a year, but I've grown up a lot. I'm looking into going to Massage Therapy school. I'm still on probation, and my probation officer even ent to bat ffor e to travel to CT to go to school. Now I'm looking at the licensing requierments and its asking about convictions. So I have a few questions really….1, if its withheld ajudification do I have to say I was convicted? 2, if I do, how hard is it going to be to actually get my license? Any help would be great, I was and still am really excited about going to school but I don't want to spend the next 2 years in school if it won't lead to a career!! Thank you!

Ask your state board of massage licensing dept. If you live in a state that has only city licensing you need to ask them.
You school should also know more.
Ask your lawyer too.

I don't know what it means to have a 'withheld ajudification'.

I got a massage therapy license in my country. And now i'm in the USA. Can I renew my license here so that I can use it in the USA?
If I can't, how can I acquire the license here (by the way i live in austin, texas)? Training? how long? how much?

You need a minimum of 500 hours to work as a therapist. It is good to have the National Certification also. That is a 3 hour test and then you need to register with the National Nursing Board. All you do is pay them $25. Then to get your license you need to go to your local Licensing office downtown and tell them how much you plan on working and estimate it low. They will charge you a fee for the license. $35. was what I paid. Best of Luck.

what book do you suggest to help me study for the Massage Therapy license exam?

check with the board in your state, most of them put out a study guide that should be sold at the school you attended or a nearby school in your area. This will have the exact content that you need to know for your test. Many schools also offer review courses for graduates for a small fee.
