Aspire to Be

Many individuals believe that they have to “live up” to another
family member or idol. Some are even envious of famous icons and
want to look, act, think and be like the stars of the big
screen. People become so obcessed that, in their quest of
“perfection,” they lose sight of who they are themselves. One of
the most peculiar idiologies of people is that they honestly
believe that they can literally “transform” themselves into
other persons.

In the eternal journey of life, human beings are almost comical
in a bizarre kind of way. Television ads tell us that we “need”
certain products and services to “make” us feel better, look
better and think better. Other sociological commercialization is
exhibited by actors and actresses — as they all seemingly have
an incredible physical appearance, coupled with extreme
self-confidence. But here’s the bottom line: not all people are
perfect. Not all actors and actresses have super bodies. Not all
individuals have perfect complexions, and gorgeous hair. So what
do we do? We improvise — and then we compromise.

We improvise with products, services, clothing, makeup, and the
like. We compromise ourselves, though, because we are no longer
“true” to our natural form. Persons who feel they “must”
actively change themselves to appear like others, is moreover a
matter of self-esteem — or lack thereof.

The most proficient and successful goal of life is to “Aspire to
be YOU.” Take a long look at yourself in the mirror. Ask
yourself the following questions:

What do YOU want to
do?
How do YOU wish others to see you?
What
defines me?
Am I confident?
Am I happy?

What can I do to be happier?
What are my
goals?
What are my dreams and aspirations?
Do
I ‘need’ to transform myself? And most importantly,

Do I know where I’m going in life?

There are no paradoxes in aspiring to be you. When you
aspire to be you, one doesn’t need to comparison shop for
personalities. One merely has to look within to find his/her
unique meaning in life and how s/he emits himself or herself in
the community. When you aspire to be you, you don’t have to be
superman or woman. You only have to be you — in mind, body and
spirit. Nature’s gift to mankind, is not how you define yourself
by becoming someone else — rather, how you present yourself to
you. Aspire to be yourself, and the rest of life’s voyage
will be smooth sailing.

I am thinking about becoming a licensed massage therapist. I need an information!!?

i stared to think of becoming a licensed massage therapist, after i finish my B.A. degree. I am getting degree in education/psychology. i have always been wanting to land on the jobs where i can help ppl. I thought about becoming a school administrator or academic advisor. However, those positions require either higher education or don’t have many openings. Since i will be 26 by the time i graduate, I want to land on the career i can make descent money and also where i can help ppl. So i came up with the idea of being a licensed massage therapist.
I do have a few question. Which is the best massage therapy school in phoenix, az area? How hard is the program at those technical school? is it really a rewarding career?
I am in need of serious advice and information so only ppl who know, are in the school, or work as a massage therapist answer plz!!

It can be quite a physical job and involve a lot of standing while the client may want a massage for up to an hour If deciding to get training, please forgo those private $$ career schools and instead look at the county vo-tech school or community college (perhaps even a non-credit course) as long as it's accredited within the industry.

Massage Therapy TX State Board Exam?

I have finished my massage therapy school and am now studying to take my TX state board exam. I was just wondering if anyone could help in giving me some study direction. There is just soooo much information. Anyone that has taken or knows anything about the test please help. Thank you!

Another good way to study is to go over old tests that you had in Massage school. Also make flash cards of anatomy terms, muscles attachments and origins etc. Just remember to take breaks and not to stress it too much. Though I know that is easier to say than do. I was so stressed before I took the National exam but passed. Just breath…good luck!

I am looking for a 'career change'. Does anybody know a good (accredited) massage therapy school in the Boston area?
Since I work full time I am trying to find a school that offers evening classes.
Any information and experiences would be appreciated!

Congratulations. I am in the middle of that same career change. Go to the website I posted and do a search by state. All schools listed on the site are accredited by COMTA. Also, it's a great website for information on licensing, schooling, professional advice… you name it! Good luck with your new career!

I don’t know how serious I am about doing the school so I do not want to “sign up for information” just yet. I thought it would be a good second job (as I already love my FT job). Can anyone enlighten me on the cost and maybe your experience with it?

It cost me $10200 I paid one hundred to start, and because it was a nationally accredited school I got government assistance. I was given a four thousand dollar grant, and will be paying the rest off slowly. And I absolutely love it, and I’m so happy I did it. But that’s just me, good luck!

I don't like the pros and cons format. I can tell you that there are two kinds of people in the business of Massage Therapy those that try to better themselves and those that don't. The ones that don't enter the profession almost never go for any continuing education. Their careers are boring. They do the same massage day after day person after person. If they have someone come in and they want an hour and a half session they don't know what to do after the first hour. For those of us that did not choose that path they are bringing down the profession. We eventually get their clients and can't do anything with them because their clients already know all about massage and that is that out side of relaxation there are no real benefits to it.
For those that choose the path of education and self improvement it is much different. Every person is a new challenge no two sessions are a like. People get better lives are changed it is a very rewarding career and we never look back. You need to decide what kind of person you are and decide which career you will have if you become a massage therapist. If you are a stick in the mud do yourself and us a big favor and find something else to do with your life. If you want to improve yourself and others welcome.

I need help on massage therapy SOAP notes on the neck injury for the insurance claim.?

Hello,
Patient has prescription from the chiropractic to get the massage due to an auto accident. She has pain in the neck, trapezius and constant headache and a severe pain, need constant rate, soap note and all other information that I need to submit.
It’s my first time to prepare soap note to an insurance company.

There is no constant rate. You have to charge what you are charging other people for a massage or else it is insurance fraud. (The AMTA WA lawyers told me that in a class I took from them.)
